August 7th
Back to work today. I saw three favourite clients. In-between I set the table for Andrew and Lucy's visit tonight, washed salad, made a sauce. I got the cake from Cafe Baroque.
I met Andrew and Lucy at The Handyman pub on Smithdown . I like it ,it has a nice atmosphere. We had a wee catch up then came back for food wine and gifts...it was a lovely evening Andrew was happy with his gifts :)
On Saturday I went to Grail in town to collect my bag, it is gorgeous they have made a great job of it ;it looks split new. John gave me that bag for my 50th birthday when I got back for Australia. he met me in London with it ,that night we went to see ART in a London theatre, cant remember which one. I remember we were in the Gods. It was a good play one of the actors from Cheers was in it...the one that always sits at the end of the bar.

I went from Grail to Central Station to get my new railcard and my ticket for Balloch on August 21st.
It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed walking threw town. I was going to go for a coffee but it was Saturday and very busy.I decided my own garden was the best place.
I ordered a good few more of my Christmas gifts today.
Sunday I met Andrew in Woolton and we went to see Breakfast Club. I thought I had seen it with Andrew before, but I think because I saw Simple minds with Andrew it was confused in my mind. I now remember I went to see it at Fact a few years ago on my own..
Monday I did Jane, then had a day of sorting out some paperwork , banking and sorting out my Uber /pay pal problem
It was satisfying to get it all done. Today is the second anniversary of the day we scattered Phil's ashes in the Dee in Chester.
I have now been home for one week.
Tuesday I saw a delightful client who has come a long way , we have one more session in a few weeks to review and say goodbye. I feel very good about the work we have done together and proud of her.
I had a shopping delivered; had a lovely walk in the park, came back and made a delicious coleslaw.
I have a few clients this month...but I am treating August as a holiday month. I will see friends, go to galleries, visit Scotland and Family there.
Wednesday
I had coffee with Patsy and Kev at Bean this morning.They both look great, they are off to Ireland next week on 22nd ,Patsy's 80 th birthday. Kev had quick coffee then went shopping while Patsy and I had a good blether.
Holly and Sophie in Flat three bought some plants to make up for the ones that died while I was away. I had some compost delivered today and tonight I planted up the pots . it is still about 28 degrees at 9.00 PM
I twandered in the summer sunshine and enjoyed browsing in the shops.
I set aside Thursday for doing my tax return. I was happy to see Idid most of the work before I left for Castalla.
I did a lot of cooking this afternoon...I froze everything as it is too hot to eat hot food.
I invited my neighbours to have drinks in the garden tomorrow evening...it is 7.45 PM
and 27 degrees...hopefully this is the end of the 5th heat wave of this summer.
We had an eclipse this week it was unimpressive here in Liverpool. I saw some amazing pictures on facebook from folk who had a better experience.

Today I heard Johnny ,my grand son, has done well in his A levels and is off to University in Southhampton .
Today I heard some young friends were in a terrible road accident.
Today I heard that one of my relatively young clients has just been diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Sunday 16th
Friday evening was delightful drinking some wine in the warm evening with Holly and Sophie in Flat 3.
They are so young, 23 and 25...very much in love and full of how they met and all their future plans.
They went off to Lavandar at The Baltic Triangle. I watched them running over for their Uber, hand in hand very sweet.
Saturday I was very tired when I wakened,I went to bed early on Friday night as I was pretty tired after my two unexpected and tough counselling sessions on Friday.
I had a very long zoom with Penny and heard all about the ups and downs in their lives.I feel concern for Penny and Steve. I hope they have a peaceful few weeks before they have to go back to work.
I was very tired all day.I had no energy at all. I was too tired to read, go for a walk, or into town to go to the cinema ,gallery or a Ferry ride.I must have been over tired because I went back to bed twice but could not go to sleep. Very unsettling.
. I went to bed early and had a good sleep and wakened this morning feeling much better
I did some laundry, watered my plants, and had a lovely long walk in the park.It is looking quite autumnal.
I enjoyed being out and about . I came home and had a 2 hour zoom with Sandra. She is becoming more like herself...it is good to see it. She is making plans for my visit next weekend when Jackie will join us . I hope to see Julie and Scott while I am there.
She has planed a few family weekends in November...good for her.
August 19th
On Monday , I had a lovely walk in the park, did my morning rituals then saw a client at 3.00, a favourite client probably for the last time face to face...hopefully occasionally on Zoom.
I feel very satisfied when I see a clients progress and growth during our time together. Via con Dias young man.
I have been watching Annika and Dept Q both are very enjoyable for me especially because they are set in Scotland and I love all the Scottish accents and the humour.
I will certainly watch them again.
My cleaners came in on Tuesday rather than Wednesday due to the holiday schedule.
I went into Bold Street with my laptop.I was going to go to Fact cafe and do some work Both cafe's were closed.
I went to Deco Lounge instead. It was much busier though. It is very nice but I prefer Leaf. I prefer table service.I then wandered through town and round the docks and bought a few gifts to take to Scotland.
It was very windy thank goodness I took my Hunter Coat with me. I enjoyed my meanderings..I love days like this.

I like to wear my summer cloths and sandals through till Halloween if possible. Sandra had 6 degrees one day last week I hope I can hold on to my resolve.
I booked tickets to go to a meeting at Woolton Picture House at 6.00 PM. I was so tired when I got back . I had a cuppa changed into comfy dressing gown and completely forgot all about it. Andrew let me know later that they are going to have a choir over there...I am interested, as my choir fell through during Covid.
It would have to be for anyone to have fun rather that a serious choir like the one at The Phil.
I like that the cinema could become a hub for other community activities.
Fact do some reading groups occasionally.

Back to today 19th....I plan on a very restful day ,I am tired and I have a very busy weekend ahead of me in Scotland.

I have already booked for Fact a Q&A session with Andrew Scott about the film Pressure. I am not sure if we see the film as well....but I love him anyway. Lovely young man

I am going to see "O Brother where Art Thou" at Woolton Picture House on September 26th and maybe an organ recital at Anglian Cathedral just before that
I gave Kev "Funny Thing, Getting Older "by Michael Morpurgo for his 80th birthday .When I saw him the other day ,he raved about it. I am now listening to the audiobook version. Kev is right it is wonderful.
I will probably buy lots of copies.

I have just returned to Liverpool after five days away in Balloch.
it was lovely to spend Sandra's birthday with her. We are both 77 now till September 25th.
I have recently watched The Bombing of Pan Am 103 it made this stop at Lockerbie all the more poignant.
Sandra met me at Partick and we drove back to Balloch just as Jackie was arriving.
Friday evening was mum's 100 birthday, we raised a glass to her, we had a lovely catchup while sitting in the Garden the weather was unusually warm for Balloch. It looks like Jackie and Geoff will finally move into their house by halloween.It has been a long haul.
Rebekka came over on Saturday with Jessica and Maisie we had lunch then sat in the Garden for a few hours. Rebekka is starting work as a teacher's assistant next week. Jessica is at school and Maisie in at nursery.
Hopefully life will start to improve for Rebekka after the ups and downs of the last few years.
Sandra and I had some down time before dinner and watching The Voice...one of Sandra's favourites.
We had an early night as we were both quite tired after the excitement of the last few days.

We went to Sandra's local garden centre on Sunday morning . We both like to have breakfast there when I am up in Balloch. It was delicious. After a lovely browse Sandra bought compost and I bought slippers and shortbread
I saw some gorgeous plants which I would have bought if it had been Dobbies in Liverpool.
After Julie and co left we went for a nice long walk and a coffee around Loch Lomond.
Sandra's birthday August 24th
We started the day with tea and gifts for Sandra.
Then a sail on the River Leven and Loch Lomond.
After that a nice afternoon in the Garden before going out for dinner at The Balloch pub.
On the eve of Sandra's birthday, Sandra introduced me to the Star Trek film when we saw Jim and Spock as children....then young Spock meets himself when he is an old man....very hard to follow but I enjoyed it vey much.
Tuesday it was time to travel back to Liverpool.
Sandra saw me off at Balloch station and I headed into Glasgow Central.
She went back to prepare for David and Freya's visit the next day.
For the first time in years, both of my train journey were completely smooth and enjoyable.
This last week in August. I saw a few clients including saying goodbye to a favourite client . She has come a long way in our six months together she is not only brave and strong...she is a very beautiful woman.
She brought be a plant and a thank you card.
On Friday I had a lovely day out with Sue in Chester . We had a lovely walk through Chester coffee in a lovey place...
then lunch on the Rows in a gorgeous restaurant which severed delicious food and the staff were delightful.
Saturday I planed " Strawberry and Cream" afternoon which I put on every year to celebrate my students and share my workshops and courses from Autumn through to Easter.
I felt pleased with what I achieved.
On Saturday night around 9.30 I went to meet Andrew and John C in Lark Lane. I always forget John is Irish.
We had a very festive catch up a few glasses of wine and in ended the evening with a wee dram.
I always love spending time with my sons and their friends..It is a privilege
On Sunday my afternoon with the students was a big success, we had two new woman who came to meet us ask questions and decide whether to come come on the courses or workshops.
One lovely young woman signed up for Inner Child workshop in November, Visions in January , Artist's Way in October and will probably come for a few counselling sessions.
I thing she will benefit enormously from all of these. She is very anxious and it took her a lot to come and speak in the group. I can see her potential.
I was given a plant , two bunches of flowers and a new woman brought cream cakes.
Today is the last day in August
I have enjoyed August in Castalla, Scotland ,Liverpool and Chester.
