A Continuation of Reflections

14th February; Valentine's Day  On my last Saturday in Castalla we had a quiet beginning to the day ...then the wind started up again. I decided to stay home and to start my farewell to Castlenel cleaning.It takes me about three days to really arrive here and get things opened up I don't like to rush it I do things very gradually and  savour the moments. It is the same  when I am leaving . I take my time put things away gradually so it is not too shocking. I spent five hours cleaning Castlenel from top to bottom ; I listened to a combination of pop music to keep me moving; Love's Executioner  by Irving Yalom and The Enchanted Wood by Enid Blyton read by Kate Winslet. I could not resist buying it when I saw it on Amazon Audible. I enjoyed making everything sparkly; I washed all the crockery and cutlery on the shelves; wiped surfaces, washed floors and polished what had to be polished ; I don't think Maria polishes, she dusts, as do my cleaners in Liverpool.  ...

 Sunday February 8th  As it happened I did not go to Alicante this afternoon; the wind became wild about an hour before the bus; and I noticed that on Sundays  there would be a four hour gap till the next bus back to Castalla ; I did not want to risk going to Alicante and the weather being just as bad as it was here. It looks like there are a few dates in the next 10 days before I leave that the weather will be much warmer in Alicante . I listened to This Cultural Life with John Wilson and Jonathan Pryce which I enjoyed. I caught up with The Archers and Just a minute and realised I have not listened to Radio 4 since I got here. Very unlike me; I have been absorbed in my audible books and my music. I have posted all these pictures  here to help me recreate what has been happening here. 2/2/26 I remember that about the 2nd we had our first day without the relentless wind. it was sunny and although the temp was low I was able to get the laundry dried on the balcony. Simple things make me happy. :) 3/2/26 Market day and we had beautiful sunshine; I bought the plants at the market stall, which is much reduced in winter as  is the market.
